Financial Services Supervisor

Responsibilities:
• Achieve high standards of Financial Services, internal control and compliance at division and branch level.
• Provide supervision of, and monitor staff within the applicable regulatory requirements.
• Be able to provide constructive feedback to the Financial Services Manager.
• Reporting findings to the Financial Services Manager monthly.
• Coach/guide and train Financial Services staff (especially new staff).
• Implement Financial Services policies and procedures.
• Follow up and action internal control and compliance matters timely and efficiently.
• Monitor the continuous professional development of Financial Services for Divisional staff and appraise.
• Provide/ensure staff receive regular training.

Experience:
• Experience as a Lewis Stores Regional Accounts Manager or Branch Manager or Internal auditor experience will be an advantage.
• Must have retail branch systems knowledge (non-negotiable).
• Demonstrate effective staff motivation and training skills.
• Excellent planning and coordinating skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all staff as well as executive management.
• Sound communication skills in English.
• Demonstrate extraordinary attention to detail.
• Basic computer experience (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.)

Qualifications:
• A recognized Diploma or Degree (preferred)
• Successfully completed the Regulatory Level RE1 FAIS Exam for Key Individuals or applicable FAIS Regulatory Exam RE5 for Representatives.
• Working knowledge and understanding of applicable Financial Services Acts and Regulations.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Position involves extensive travelling

Our client, with open pit mining operations in South Africa, is seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to coordinate and supervise production teams to ensure operational targets are met.

Responsibilities:
    Manage and optimize production processes.
    Ensure production targets are met.
    Ensure operational, legal and safety standards are implemented and adhered to.
    Effective maintenance planning and management to ensure optimal use of equipment and minimal downtime.
    Budgeting and cost control.
    Workforce planning.
    Mentoring and training of subordinates.

    Red Ticket
    Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency
    Grade 12 NQF 4 equivalent certification

Description
The incumbent will be responsible to supervise the cost-effective execution of all mining work ensuring the achievement of mining and quality targets and to ensure compliance of provisions of the Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act and its Regulations.

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
• Ensure SHEQ compliance within the Team through effective use of the Toolbox
•  Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status

PEOPLE
Supervise the Team:
•Ensure an enabling climate/culture

• Maintain labour stability by minimising labour turnover

o Labour complement in line with budget

    Manage performance against set targets and competencies
    Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
    Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
    Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
    Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
    Conduct recruitment interviews

CUSTOMERS
    Ensure Customer Satisfaction

BUSINESS PROCESSES

Mining:
    Inspect all workings in area of responsibility as frequently as may be deemed necessary by the Mine Health and Safety Act
    Inspect every working face blasted within 48 hrs
    Inspect all other workings (not blasted) at least once a week at intervals not exceeding 10 days
    Daily during shift inspection visit all miners under his charge and satisfy himself that work is proceeding safely under every mine section
    Record findings in the log book
    Ensure adequate material is available for safe production.
    Measure blasted panels and plot on survey plan.

Tactical Planning:
•  Monitor and control the Tactical Plan
•   Achieve Mining Budget

SHAREHOLDER VALUE
    Monitor and control section costs


Requirements
Minimum qualifications:


•  Grade 12 / N3
•Blasting Certificate
•Minerals Act Regulation (15.1) appointment
·               Shift Overseer Certificate (Mining) Will be an advantage

Additional qualifications:
    Medical fitness as per organisational requirements

Required Experience:

At Least 3 years relevant experience in Mining, preferably 1 year supervisory experience
