MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 
Grade 10/ABET or equivalent qualification. 
A Security Certificate: Grade C with PRSIR.at least one (1) to two (2) years’ work experience as a Security Officer. 
Good communication skills (written and verbal), good interpersonal skills. 
Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends and irregular hours. 
The applicant must be physically fit and have no criminal record.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Protection of personnel information and property by doing the following. 
Access control including crowd control, guarding and patrolling of buildings.
 Update security registers. Conduct inspections of all DHET security buildings. 
Monitor all the contractors in the building. 
Liaise with the local police in case of a crime. Attend security related complains. 
Inspect Security Service provider registers. 
Conduct access control as well as access control cards.
 Print access control cards. Activate and deactivate access control cards. 
Print time sheet when required. 
Participate in disaster management. 
Safeguard building keys. 
Report all incidents of security breach to security supervisor and management.

As a Safety Officer, you will be part of the Electrification Products Division and Distribution Solutions Business Units (BU) based in Secunda, South Africa. Tasks
As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible to provide support to ABB EPDS by aligning HSEQ Standards, guidelines, procedures and specifications to ABB strategic objectives, statutory and international regulatory standards and best practices. You will be also responsible to enforce compliance at all levels of the organization.

Your tasks as a Safety Officer will include the following:
•Inspect the site to ensure it is a hazard-free environment.
•Conduct toolbox meetings.
•Part of the project team and leads all efforts to enhance safety. Review and approve all subcontractors’ safety plans or safety files. Verify that injury logs and reports are completed and submitted to related government agencies or department of labor verify that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
•Promote safe practices at the job site.
•Enforce safety guidelines.
•Train and carry out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.
•Conduct investigations of all accidents and near-misses.
•Report to concerned authorities as requested or mandated by regulations.
•Conduct job hazard analyses or risk assessments. Establish safety standards and policies as needed.
•Perform emergency response drills.
•Watch out for the safety of all workers and works to protect them from entering hazardous situations.
•Respond to employees’ safety concerns.
•Coordinate registration and removal of hazardous waste.
•Serve as the link between government, local agencies, contractors and customers. Receive reports from and responds to orders issued by Department of Labor inspectors.
•Arrange for OSHA mandated testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies or consultants.

Requirements
•SAMTRAC or SHEMTRAC or NEBOSH IGC or National Diploma.

•2 to 3 years of relevant HSE experience.

•Registered with SACPCMP or Proof of application Exposure to construction sites, beneficial will be within the Electrical Industry.

•Certification: HIRA, Incident Investigation, First Aid L1 Exposure to OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 is required.

Key performance areas: 
The inspection of security service providers within the Private security industry to ensure proper regulation and compliance within the Private Security Industry Regulatory Act 56 of 2001 and Regulations made in terms thereof through the application of legal powers granted in terms of the Act 
● Effective law enforcement process ( improved compliance level)
● Planning of regulatory work considering complaints received, operational targets and other responsibilities
● Assist with routine inspections at security service providers (security businesses) when requested and conducting inspections at security officer to ensure compliance in terms of the Act and in particular the Code of Conduct regulations 
● Conduct infrastructure and capacity inspections at new applicant security businesses as well as businesses changing addresses in order to ensure that they meet the prescribed infrastructure and capacity requirements in order to render the particular security service 
● Issuing directives to security officers in respect of any obligation in terms of the Act and Regulations 
● Assist in conducting assessments of training facilities in order to verify whether they meet accreditation requirements
● Identify contraventions of Code of Conduct regulations following on from security officer inspections and compilation of dockets relating to the allegations of improper conduct
● Assist with joint operations with inspectors and stakeholders which include the SAPS, SSA, Metro Police and other State agencies 
● Taking affidavits of witnesses
● Liaise with Authority Prosecutors in respect of charges and evidence 
●Testify in Improper Conduct Enquiries 
● Referring matters to the Enforcement Unit or Inspectors in the Compliance Unit requiring further investigation or inspections 
● Address telephone and written enquiries in respect of the Act and regulations as well as enquiries following on from inspections 
● Serving of charges sheets and summonses on respondents 
● Liaise with the Authority’s Finance Department in respect of outstanding annual fees and collection of annual fees and fines
● Act as peace Officer 
● Act as Commissioner of Oath ● Submission of statistical reports on Law Enforcement activities 
● Capturing of information on the Compiere database.

Job Requirements:
Recognised Diploma or certificate in Policing or Post Graduate Certificate in Policing, Investigation and or paralegal studies
●Coupled with 2-3 years’ experience in regulatory environment 
●Valid driver’s license with 2 years driving experience 
● Ideal candidates are expected to have their own reliable vehicle.

Program Description:  The Fulbright FLTA Program is a nine-month, Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA)-funded, non-degree program for early career English teachers or professionals in related fields. Participants have the opportunity to refine their teaching skills, increase their English language proficiency and extend their knowledge of the society and culture of the United States, while being teaching assistants for their native language to U.S. students and strengthening foreign language instruction at U.S. colleges and universities. Fulbright FLTA participants also interact with their host communities in conversation groups, extracurricular activities, and community outreach projects. Fulbright FLTA participants must return to their home countries upon completion of the program. Fulbright FLTA participants may assist in up to twenty hours of language classes a week and are required to enroll in at least two courses per semester, one of which must be in U.S. Studies. Coursework is offered on either an audit or credit basis. Fulbright FLTA participants will also be expected to facilitate cultural events, language clubs, and language tables.

Eligibility: 
Applicants are typically teachers of English or in training to become teachers of English, and at minimum must possess the equivalent of a U.S. Bachelor’s degree by June 1, 2019 to allow time to submit an official transcript prior to the start of the Fulbright FLTA Program. Fluency in English is mandatory, demonstrated by a score of no less than 550 (paper based TOEFL); 213 (computer based TOEFL – CBT); 79-80 (internet based TOEFL – IBT) or 6.0 (overall score International English Language Testing System – IELTS).Applicants must demonstrate maturity, dependability, integrity, and professionalism. Material misrepresentation (e.g., plagiarism) at any time during the application or grant period is grounds for selection withdrawal or grant termination, as well as ineligibility for future participation. Applicants must be residing in Tanzania throughout the nomination and selection process. FLTA applicants should be young, early career educators capable of succeeding in the dual role of teaching assistant and student. They must be open to living with their U.S. student peers in undergraduate or graduate level campus housing and also engaging with faculty and staff with maturity and professionalism. Fulbright FLTA participants are required to return to their home countries upon completion of the nine-month program. ECA will not support any extension requests for participants. The Fulbright FLTA program does not support dependents or family members. Candidates may not have any dependents accompany them for any time during the program. Family and friends may visit program participants during holiday periods. By extension of this policy, pregnant candidates may not participate in the program if the birth is due during the program period. Preference is given to those candidates who have little or have no prior experience living in the United States. Participants must be flexible with placements at smaller or more ethnically diverse U.S. academic institutions in order to meet one of the goals of the Fulbright FLTA Program to place participants in all 50 States and at diverse institutions.

Plagiarism:
Recently, plagiarism in applications has become a major issue and candidates should be aware that plagiarism in applications will not be tolerated. If applicants will plagiarize by not properly citing sources in their applications (personal statements, essays, etc.), their applications will be disqualified.
