Project Engineer (Information Technology)

To support and maintain all desktop / servers and networking infrastructure in accordance with the client SLA’s. To assist in all ad hoc duties as required and specified in the Job Description.

Main Responsibilities / Tasks:
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support to all Bytes clients
• Provide backup services and support to networking monitoring services (NMS)
• To administer, maintain, be accountable and troubleshoot client networks consisting of servers, pc's printers, switches, firewalls, routers and UPS’s.
• Communicate/Escalate to the Service Delivery Manager/Senior Engineers on any issues outside of your control/abilities but owning the problem to completion.
• Ensure all calls are logged and be accountable for all logged calls within the SLA and to communicate with the Help desk and ensure successful completion of calls.
• Ensure all procedures such as Health checks, Change control and Network documentation is adhered to, up to date and accurate.
• Installing approved software and hardware connecting users to networks and providing initial guidance.
• Facilitate all IT 3rd Pty activities onsite where it has an impact on the overall IT service to the client.
• Establish and control systems access and security.
• Monitor systems in order to optimise performance and to initiate recovery action after system failures
• Assist the customers concerning replacement of outdated equipment and software
• Prepare site weekly and monthly reports. Identify trends and exceptions and provide clear explanations and recommendations.

Regional Project Controller – Western Cape


The Wholesale and Retail Sector for Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) seeks to employ a Regional Project Controller, who will report directly to the Regional Manager and be based at the Western Cape Regional Office.

Key Performance Areas will include but not limited to the following:
 Provide project support and advice to the Region
 Stakeholder engagement and liaison
 Governance
 Document management
 Coordinate specific regional projects
 Oversee registrations of learners by specified deadline dates
 Effectively implement and manage contracts
 Implement and manage to completion, various learning programmes including Learnerships, Skills Programmes and other learning interventions within the region which includes but is not limited to the following:
 Receive and record learner agreements in the region
 Check received agreement to ensure compliance
 Advise stakeholders within seven (7) days of receipt whether or not the learner agreement can be registered
 Ensure compliant agreements are registered
 Conduct verification and monitor stakeholder visits as per agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
 Prepare and submit learnership quarterly reports to the Team Leader and/or Regional Manager
 Prepare and submit grants payment schedules to the Team Leader or Regional Manager, for approval
 Reconcile Grant Claim forms and process for approval by the Regional Manager
 Verify and submit final documents for various projects to Head Office through the Team Leader or Regional Manager, i.e. documents for approval of payments, etc.
 Coordinate verification and monitoring activities
 Report on project progress to the Regional Manager and stakeholders
 Effect terminations and request external moderation and certification from the Qualifications and Quality Assurance unit
 Assist with the preparation for internal and external audits (DHET/AG/Internal)
 Perform other functions as required by the Unit
 Conduct monitoring, verification and due diligence visits on all relevant projects (i.e. workplace evaluation, confirmation of learners, assessor/facilitator/ moderator verification etc.)
 Reconcile verified and monitored learners
 Liaise with stakeholders and resolve queries
 Coordinate monthly stakeholder project progress meetings (monthly and as required)
 Implement and maintain the relevant management systems and optimize controls and processes
 Ensure adequate record keeping processes are implemented
 Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements
 Grade 12 /Matric
 Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration / Commerce / Project Management
 3 years’ experience in skills development / training
 Previous experience as a project coordinator / managing projects
 Project Management certificate will be an advantage
 In depth knowledge and understanding of the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS), Skills Development Act and Skills Levies Act
 Knowledge and understanding of SETA Management System (SMS) will be an advantage
 Experience in public sector and knowledge of the wholesale and retail sector will be an added advantage
 Computer literacy (MS Excel, Ms Word & MS Project)
 Ability to travel within the WC Region and must be a local WC resident
 Own transport and a valid Driver’s licence
