You need to have experience with machine operation on Loh 2000 Blocker, Semi-automatic Schneider CB Bond and Toro X and CCP Swift Polishers to be considered for this post. Please kindly do not apply if you do not have experience with the above.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE OPTICAL INDUSTRY

Educational requirements:
Grade 12 or higher and/or surfacing experience
Computer literate in selected programs
Technical background and knowledge of optical industry
At least 1 year working experience is required

Main Function:
Surface all lenses
Follow standard operating procedures
Adhere to ISO standards

Duties and responsibilities:
Setting up machines
Perform testing procedures
Maintain and clean machines
Blocking lenses on manual Loh 2000 blocker and semi-automatic Schneider CB bond
Polishing lenses on Toro X and CCP Swift polishers
Calibrate and recalibrate machines
Monitor machines during procedures
Troubleshoot
Perform random tests/safety checks
Ensure stock is readily available
Create and maintain activity logs
Meeting daily targets of lenses per day

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Small Scale Operator is responsible for:

    Weighing incoming scrap metal
    Correctly identifying and grading incoming scrap metal
    Entering the correct information into the computer system
    Directing customers to the appropriate areas for offloading
    Being honest to the Company and to the company’s customers at all times

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE
    A minimum Grade 12 certificate
