The successful applicants will be required to:
• Be already registered and committed to completing their PGCE Senior or FET phase only. (Proof of UNISA registration is required)
• Specialise in English (Home Language), Human Social Science, Arts and Culture, Life Orientation. Students with two of the above subjects will be at an advantage.
• Be a person of integrity and enthusiasm, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Be fully computer literate.
• Be willing to participate fully in all school activities, including the academic and extra-mural programme, as well as school duties.
• Apply for a temporary SACE registration and obtain a clearance certificate from the Sexual Offenders register.
The contract is for 1 year only, renewable if requirements of the programme are met. The school will pay: your UNISA tuition fee, a textbook subsidy and an allowance.

Rockstar Intern for Injini – Africa’s EdTech Incubator

Start date: 17 August 2018

Location: Bandwidth Barn, Woodstock, Cape Town. Cannot be done remotely, limited option to work from home.

Employment status: Initially 4 week internship, finishing 14 September. Extension, and then even a permanent job, if you perform well.

Initial salary: 
R5k for initial 4 weeks. Possibility of pay rise if you stay longer.

Desired qualities: Highly conscientious, organised and orderly. Pro-active. Brings solutions not problems. Strong work ethic, calm under pressure, ‘can do’ attitude. Must be flexible and able to organise and attend evening events. Passion for education and alignment with our mission and vision essential.

The role: Reporting to Head of Operations, Ruth Hattersley, Injini’s intern will pick up a range of admin tasks (booking flights, organising events, scheduling workshops, speaker liaison) as well as research and problems solving for cohort companies. Every day will be fast paced and involve different tasks, which will be pro actively dealt with in a flexible, timely and high quality manner.

Job Purpose

Principal Accountabilities

• Perform Cargo Clearing and Forwarding , Cargo Acceptance, Load preparation , Transhipment as well flight operations performance duties
• Assist with eco – politics, flight planning and scheduling as well as flight operations performance.
• Monitor outbound /inbound traffic activities for load quality and accuracy
• Research and coordinate the business development around the Dube Trade Port Special Economic zone.
• Coordinate all Air Import /Export Freight activities including quotation, booking, documentation, data entry, shipment tracking and tracing, billing, arranging deliveries, among other responsibilities
• Focus on the layout design and process flows ,focusing on issues of effectiveness and efficiencies as well as service reliability with a view to optimize operations
• Ensure that the Cargo business can do more with less and assist in reducing wastage
• Improve efficiency and competitiveness, profitability and reduce resource requirements
• Assist in providing a method by which the Cargo business can analyse their processes and try to make improvements to them
• Conduct research on the airline sales and marketing portfolio
• Regular reporting of Air Cargo sales performance compared to its competitors

Qualifications & Experience
    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• 3 year Diploma or Degree in the following fields Finance/ Logistics / Transport Economics/ Transport Management/ Industrial Engineering/ Sales and Marketing at NQF level 6
• Intern candidates must be able to complete the program without interfering with completion of studies as part of course work
