A leading mining company, with a project in the DRC, is looking for a Materials Data Steward to be based in their Johannesburg office. The role will be responsible creation, maintenance and governance of all material master data for the operation. The role will require travel to site from time to time

    Facilitate definition of material data ownership and responsibility across the company
    Ensure material data systems remain validated and compliant
    Interface with various teams to validate adherence to master data policies
    Perform validation and corrections via audit reports to ensure standardisation
    Application of best business practices for mass data updates as appropriate
    Identify critical attributes which must be included on all interfaces and masters
    Cleanses legacy data and identifies critical standarisation needs
    Ensure master data integrity in key systems and as well as maintaining the processes to support data quality
    Resolve all pending issues through error detection and appropriate corrective action  
    Ensure and maintain data quality
    Define data strategy, policies, controls and programs to ensure accuracy
    Adhere to company and local health, safety and environmental regulations
    Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, customers and colleagues

Requirements: Qualification and Skill
    Degree in Purchasing or Supply chain, or Diploma in Supply chain, Finance, Mining or Engineering
    Business qualification advantageous
    3-5 years’ experience in a Materials Data Steward role in the mining or industrial sectors
    3-5 years’ experience in data management and analysis
    Financial or internal controls experience
    Experience with computer system validation and validation testing
    Experience working with ERP Master Data
    Must be able to read drawings, schematics and understand quality requisitions

    Ensure that all forms and documentation applicable to the particular flight, as required by the company, have been completed, and shall ensure that all required checklists, aircraft flight manual, flight folio, defect sheets, pertinent aeronautical charts and applicable equipment are on board the aircraft and serviceable
    Ensure sign-on with authorisation sheet, and ensure that in the event of operations away from base, that applicable contact details are made available to flight operations and that the crew is contactable
    Training, checking and managing of aircrew – if applicable.
    Assist with ad-hoc duties as assigned by the relevant manager


    Matric/Grade 12 or similar
    Possess a valid FAA/EASA/SACAA ATPL to be able to be validated for the Federal Aviation Authority and Aircraft Registry

    Clear understanding of Part 91/135/121 operations with a min of 5 to 8 years’ experience in the Aircraft Commercial Field and Corporate/Business Aviation.
    Clear understanding of international and local regulations.
    Minimum of 4000 hours total time, 3000 multi-engine jet PIC time. (Captains)

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

Required Skills
