Job Purpose    
To oversee and manage the operations of SAAT’s Payroll Department, Remuneration and Benefits to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and to ensure that Payroll, Remuneration and Benefits administration is performed effectively and in line with business needs.

Principal Accountabilities   
 1. Payroll
a) Manage and monitor the delivery of all Payroll related activities in a timeous manner
b) Develop and deliver meaningful and accurate reports for management as and when required
c) Use SAP knowledge and technical expertise to ensure timely management of Payroll administration
d) Ensure Payroll system integrity and that access is provided in a secure manner only to appropriate parties
e) Manage the implementation of Collective Agreements
f) Ensure that all Payroll related activities and reporting align with Auditing standards

2. Remuneration
a) Engage with internal and external stakeholders to benchmark, analyse and maintain the SAAT remuneration structure
b) Enforce and ensure that SAAT remuneration structures are upheld and that there is consistency across the business

3. Benefits
a) Focus on external market practices and how these affect SAAT’s retention strategies and employee benefits
b) Understand and interpret statutory requirements and how these impact on company benefits (e.g. pension, medical aid, etc.)
c) Engage with internal and external stakeholders to benchmark, analyse and maintain the SAAT remuneration structure

4. Adapt, develop and implement policies and procedures in line with statutory and regulatory frameworks
Ensure that all the relevant payroll, remuneration and benefits practices, policies and procedures which are applied within the SAAT context fall in line with legislative, regulatory and statutory requirements and frameworks

5. Cost and budget management
Plan, deliver and monitor budget within area of control

6. Staff management
Manage all HR related matters pertaining to staff including, inter alia, recruitment, development of KPI’s, performance management, training and development and labour relation actions and ensure compliance with all relevant HR and SAAT policies procedure

Qualifications & Experience   
 Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (preferably with HR focus)
Must have at least 7 – 10 years’ experience in Payroll, Benefits and Remuneration of which 3 years must be in a Managerial position
SARA accreditation will be advantageous

Knowledge and Skills

Additional Information
