Omnia’s Agriculture Division, the market leader in southern Africa, comprises Omnia Fertilizer and Omnia Specialities. The division produces granular, liquid and speciality fertilizers for a broad customer base of farmers, co-operatives and wholesalers throughout southern and East Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. The division is expanding its influence in Europe, South America and Asia, where it is increasing its sales of speciality products. The Omnia Agriculture division’s range of specialised products and services are encompassed by its unique Nutriology® offering, which assists customers to optimise crop yield and quality.

  • Relevant University degree with specialisation in Employee Relations
• Sound knowledge in Change Management an advantage
• At least 7 years’ employee relations experience within the manufacturing or chemical industry of which at least
2 years as management
• Solid understanding of labour legislation, BCOE and EE Legislative framework,
• English Proficiency
• Valid Divers License (Code 8)

• Exposure to World Class Practices an advantage
• Experience in the implementation of Employee Relations strategies
• Experience of planning and delivering employee relations initiatives
• Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
• Proven track record of working at both a strategic and operational level

• Implementing the ER strategy through a business applicable solution and framework
• Implement Employee relations training and development initiatives to build capacity
• Negotiate and Monitor union agreement
• Drive and oversee all employee relations initiatives within the division
• Lead on the employee relations aspects of proposed changes to the business structure
• Advise and support all parts of the business on employee relations matters to ensure their effective management. Issues include: disciplinary, grievances and performance issues.
• Provides advise with relation to Contracts of employment, Terms and conditions of employment and restructuring and workforce planning
• Establish and co –ordinate management/employee/union communication committees to promote a healthy working culture
• Keep up to date with current ER legislation and ensure this is aligned to Omnia Employee Relations policies.
• Develop a framework for collective bargaining and health and safety/employee well-being

• Incumbent will spend 3 days per week in Sasolburg and 2 days per week in Bryanston or on other sites.
